A fish tale

Ok, so this is pretty old, (like during the fall), better late than never right?!

We took the kids to a local fishing pond for some fishing on a nice fall day. Cavan was determined that he would catch a "really big fish". The kids had lot's of fun casting their poles and reeling them in but unfortunately they didn't even get any nibbles. Brock had the ingenious idea to remove the hooks from a deep-sea fishing lure and attatch it to Cavan's line when he wasn't looking. If you watch the video below you will see the adorable action. Cavan was so proud, he told everyone about his fish all day, it went from being a 4 inch lure to being a giant fish that was as big as his arms were wide.

Scrappy Stuff

If I could win more contests I wouldn't have to spend so much money on scrapbooking supplies! I won this awesome kit of beautiful supplies on 52sketches52weeks.ning.com

This is the layout that won me that prize:

And here's what I've done with it so far, these colors are not my usual style, I usually tend to choose bright, playful and girly themes, but I really love how these layouts turned out.

This "happy baby" layout was featured on Cosmo Cricket's facebook page, Cosmo Cricket is my favorite paper company- very exciting!

These two layouts I did with the pictures that Megan took at the reunion, thanks for the beautiful pictures Megan, you are a great photographer!

And yes, I have done some layouts for the Clayson family reunion album, I will share them soon!

Turning 25 wasn't anything super exciting, but Br0ck and the kids made it really special!

Life has been pretty busy for us lately, there's no denying that. Brock and I work wednesday through sunday. I start work at 4 am until 12:30, I get home then Brock gets ready for work and he runs to do any estimates he has before going into work at 2:30, then he gets home after ten where he must promptly go to bed because the kids will be waking him up before 7. Then on our weekends Brock usually has both days filled with jobs and estimates.

Yep, it's busy. So on my weekend with the kids I try to have lot's of fun and get that quality time in.

We started our day at Chuck E Cheese's. Ten dollars in tokens really lasts forever there, good cheap fun for the kids!

Then we had a yummy lunch at The Olive Garden

Followed by the splash park, the ultimate in free kid fun. Even I can't resist my inner child screaming at me to run through the water with the kids.

Life may be busy, but it's so sweet!!

My favorite thing to do when the kids are napping

My absolute favorite hobby right now is scrapbooking. I really thought it wasn't for me and I would never get into it, but my friend Kristine got me hooked and we've been scrapping together ever since.

I had boxes of old pictures that I cherished, but never actually looked through. Scrapping gives the photo's a story, something you might have otherwise forgotten.
It's also inspired my photography. Now i'm taking photo's of everyday moments and the simple things in life instead of just holidays, it's the day to day stuff that I don't want to forget.
